At the AGM of IVCCI held on October 1, 2012 Mr. Prabhakar Dalal, Executive Director, EXIM Bank was kind enough to introduce us to facilities offered by EXIM Bank and Mr.David Sinate, General Manager, EXIM Bank, gave a crisp & lucid presentation of the business opportunities in Vietnam.

Mr. Prabhakar Dalal in his speech said that EXIM Bank has extended a loan of $72 million for the purpose of Indo-Vietnam Trade. EXIM Bank has extended funding to the Government mainly for the purpose of Buyers Credit.

EXIM Bank offers Term Loan & Working Capital Loan and Bank Guarantee to the target Company (say in Vietnam), once it is acquired by the Indian Company.

EXIM Bank has an Overseas Investment Finance Programme (OIFP) to help Indian Companies to acquire foreign Companies.

EXIM Bank also organises seminars, buyer seller meets, which are part of the promotional programs.

Mr.David Sinate in his speech said that Vietnam has a growth rate (GDP) of 7%. Their world rankings in part commodity are as follows:

There is a tremendous potential in Vietnam for the hydro sector & consequently for cold storages. There is a scope for “Compound” cattle feed & equipment for enhancing productivity in the Agro sector. Details are available on EXIM bank website.
